2006 Telstra Australian Short Course Championships

Leisel Jones rikkoi 100 metrin rintauinnin maailmanennätyksen Australian Lyhyen radan mestaruuskisoissa Hobartissa.

Ennätys rikkoutui semi-finaalissa. Jones aloitti alusta lähtien kovaa ja kellotti maalissa 1:04.12, parantaen 0.67 sekunttia Tara Kirkin vuonna 2004 uimaa ennätystä.

Jonesilla on nyt hallussaan lyhyen ja pitkän radan 100 sekä 200 rinulin maailmanennätykset.

“I had a really good warm up and my goal was to break the 100 world record and I felt really good tonight and so I thought I may as well have a go.”

“I didn’t know if I would feel this good tomorrow so I made the most of the opportunity and I was very happy with that time.”
