ÖHSTM: Tag 2: Rekord- und WM-Limitwelle in Wien
Second day in Wiener Stadthallenbad was quite a rich with records from seasoned veterans. Jukic-family and Dominik Koll were some of the swimmers who re-wrote record books.
In men’s 50 free Martin Spitzer missed Daniel Schmollinger’s eight year old national mark with just three hundreths of a second clocking 23.13. In 400 free David Brandl lost the race and same time lost also his own national record as Dominik Koll triumphed. Koll clocked 3:48.15 for the win and new record, Brandl second with 3:49.73. Dinko Jukic had a quite year in 2008 and now 2009 seems even brighter. Dinko moved his 100 fly national record to new heights with 52.03, quite a drop from 53.32 from last summer. Bernhard Wolf also swam respectable 53.90.
Mirna Jukic equaled her own record in 100 breast with 1:07.06, hitting the end just as in Beijing. Nina Dittrich broke her own national record in 200 bk with a huge margin. She had managed 2:17.02 just last summer and now went 2:14.55 for the win.. Team from ASV Linz swam new record in 4×200 free relay with 8:30.78, shaving almost eights second from the old one.
