Full bag of new national records. Fernanda Gonzalez made three with 28.85 in 50 back, 1:00.77 in 100 back and 2:12.96 in 200 back. Rita Medrano made two, 1:01.06 in 100 fly and 2:11..43 in 200 fly. In 50 fly Mariana Guerrero 27.54. Liliana Lopez 56.15 in 100 free.

Alfredo Jacobo 27.12 in 50 breast, brother Alejandro Jacobo 58.83 in 100 breast and 2:08.14 in 200 breast. In 50 back Israle Duran 24.80.

Daily Record Scotland – But in a year when the country was gripped by the Olympics and Paralympics, our top sportswoman is Rebecca Adlington. The Mansfield mermaid swam her way into the record books in Beijing, winning two gold medals, the first British woman to win an Olympic swimming gold in 48 years. Her second gold just days later broke the longest-standing world record in swimming. Rebecca, 19, is down-to-earth, modest and celebrated with a takeaway.

La Provence – CN Marseille team composed of Laure Manaudou, Andréa Baudry, Diane Bui-Duyet et Angéla Tavernier clocked new NR in 4×100 medley relay with time of 3:59.87 at Reunion Swim Meet. (ED.NOTE Just wanted to add the team here ´cause we did not know the full roster before.)

Zwemkroniek – Ranomi Kromowidjojo clocked new 18yrsNR in 50 fly with 26.13 at Reunion Swim Meet, .61 taken off from old one by her.

Swimming World – Ous Mellouli named best athlete in Tunisia.

– Olympic swimming star Michael Phelps was given a key to the city from mayor Kevin Johnson and a Kings jersey from team owner Gavin Maloof in the first half of Sacramento’s 108-63 loss to the Celtics. Phelps had a chance to win a car for a fan by hitting the rim from halfcourt, but his shot banged off the backboard. Phelps was given another opportunity in the second half, but failed again, shooting an airball and launching a shot over the backboard.

– High-tech swimming suits worn when world records were lowered more than 100 times this year could be affecting the credibility of the performances says Grant Stoelwinder, who guides 50- and 100-metre freestyle record holders Eamon Sullivan and Libby Trickett. He estimated that the suits were improving times by 0.3 seconds a lap and new developments would only give swimmers more of an edge.

Diane Bui Duyet continued fine swims with 25.95 in 50 fly (.4 from NR), Rafi Munoz Perez 22.40 in same event on the men.

Yesterday Ranomi Kromiwidjojo clocked new 18yrsNR in 50 free with 24.14 and continued today with 52.79 in 100 free. Fabien Gilot and Alain Bernard had tight race with .01 seperating the two, Alain pulling the victory with 45.96 and Fabien second with 45.97.

In women´s 4×100 medley relay CN Marseille clocked new national record time 3:59.87, improving from 4:07.23 from year 2003.

On the second day of the competition Diane Bui Duyet broke six years old European record in 100 fly with 56.50. Martina Moravcova was the old owner with 56.55 from year 2002.

Sophie De Ronchi clocked French record in 200 breast with 2:21.55, old one 2:22.67 from 20/12/08 by the same gal.
